JOB TITLE:      MW/BTS Implementation Manager

Department:   Network Engineering & Operations Department

Reports to :     Project Director

Position Purpose:

Responsible for the effective and efficient management of MW/BTS implementation infrastructure through the AWCC network. The position requires the MW/BTS Implementation Manager to develop process/procedures, which ensures the proper coordination between various subcontractors, vendors, and internal departments. MW/BTS Implementation manager will be responsible to review project contracts, invoices, and other works. Close cooperation with the Project Coordination Department is required. Responsible to institute quality guidelines and high professional standards.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Create the processes and procedures that are required in implementing the microwave and GSM BTS, nationally.
    • Manage a team of installation, implementation, and test engineers.
    • Create the required documentation that is required for both planning and operations.
    • Hire and evaluate new staff members, which may be necessary, as the workload increases.
    • Coordinate the evaluation of quality of workmanship, material, and scheduling of the various subcontractors, and vendors.
    • Manage the equipment vendor(s) activities and drive projects to timely completion.
    • Institute scheduled meetings.
    • Monitor and coordinate the capital expenditures of the various projects with the Project Coordination.
    • Provide MW/BTS Implementation reports and any other periodic report that may be required. Weekly schedules to be prepared and submitted to Project Coordination Department.
    • Implement changes in procedures or processes when necessary in order to become more efficient and economical.
    • Prepare RFQs, review proposals, and participate in negotiations as required to award contracts for various support services and equipment.
    • Interface with other internal departments that may be required for support, etc.
    • Assist in developing cross-functional interactions to other technical departments.
    • Complete performance appraisal for staff on periodic basis.
    • Demonstrate leadership and guidance to a diverse group of dynamic staff personnel.

      Education, Certification and /or Training Qualifications:
      • University degree in Electronics and Telecommunications (or similar)
      • Proven knowledge of cellular network deployment
      • 3-5 years of senior level experience in project management
      • Previous working experience in mobile telephony network (GSM) operations and maintenance, and implementation
      • Excellent planning and leadership abilities
      • Understanding of GSM/MW technology (preferred)
      • Fluency in English
