JOB TITLE:                      BSS Specialist

Reports to :               Operations Support Manager

Job Descripton

The candidate will be responsible for the following:

• Provide technical support for GSM Engineers engaged in scheduled maintenance, diagnostics and corrective maintenance on the BSS systems nationwide.
• Provide BSS training for the GSM Engineers including fault diagnostics, system administration, use and application of test equipment, safety, commissioning and system operation.
• Perform network modification, installation and upgrade as required.
• Specify maintenance requirements for installed BSS systems.
• Write reports and procedures.
• Perform other related duties as required.
• Work in other locations in Afghanistan as required.

Minimum Requirements:
The candidate should have as a minimum:

• Extensive understanding of BSS, RF and GSM systems.
• At least 5 years experience in commissioning/ maintaining BSS equipment with a major operator or with a GSM manufacturer in a similar role. Airnet experience a definite asset.
• A sound background in the use and application of GSM and RF test equipment.
• A sound background in the use of computers and applications.
• A formal qualification in Telecommunications or Electronics.
• A good understanding of the English language.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
