Job description: Microwave Engineer

Reports to: Operations Support Manager

Job Description:

• The candidate will be responsible for the following:
  • Perform diagnostics, corrective and scheduled maintenance for the Microwave and Transmission Network.
  • Perform microwave and transmission performance measurements as required.
  • Perform network modifications and upgrades as required.
  • Write reports.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
  • Work shifts according to a shift schedule.
  • Work in other locations in Afghanistan as required.

  Minimum Requirements:

  • The candidate should have as a minimum:

    • A sound understanding of Microwave systems and transmission.
    • At least 2 years experience in maintaining Microwave systems with a major operator or with a Microwave systems manufacturer in a similar role.
    • A sound background in the use and application of Microwave transmission test equipment.
    • A sound background in the use of computers and applications.
    • A formal qualification in Telecommunications or Electronics.
    • A good understanding of the English language.
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
