Q: What are the charges for International SMS messages?

Q: Why have you started to charge for International SMS MO messages? Why not leave it free?
A: In order to offer you a better quality of service with faster delivery of messages and new service it is necessary to start charging for International SMS messages. Our competition is charging since several years.
Q: Why can't I send any SMS messages?
A: When your balance reaches $0 you will no longer be able to send SMS messages similar to your voice account. If you want to continue sending SMS messages you will have to recharge your account. However, you will always be able to receive SMS messages.
Q: Why are you not charging lower for International SMS messages?
A: We have decided to charge the rate of 0.20$ per message sent based on the expenses we incur. This is an affordable price in international markets.
Q: Why do you charge me even though my message has not been delivered to the recipient?
A: The charging for International SMS MO is based on a ‘per sent message' basis. It is necessary for us to charge in this manner since in sending your message you have utilized our network resources. However we make our best effort to ensure that your message is delivered in the shortest time possible, and our systems are in place for this. However there are several reason why your message may not have been delivered including;
The recipient's phone is off
The recipient's phone is out of network coverage
Uncontrollable network failures
You do not have sufficient credit on your phone
Q: To which countries/operators can I send to?
A: Please refer to the list of the participating networks at www. afghan-wireless.com or contact customer service to know about the recipient's network is listed in our participating networks.
Q: Why is my prepaid balance debited after my SMS has been sent?
A: You sent an SMS and the way we bill for SMS (and that is similar for almost all prepaid SMS Subscribers) is that we cannot bill you immediately. In fact, the charges for sending SMS messages will only appear on your account after 5-10 minutes and could appear 2 hours later.
Q: I want the charges to appear immediately!
A: This is not technically possible so you will have to stop using your SMS capability. If you are qualified, you may consider moving from a prepaid account to a post-paid account since this account type is billed on a monthly basis.
Q: The SMS I sent was not received so I don't want to pay?
A: Afghan Wireless Communication Company charges for SMS messages based on sending the message and not the message being received. This is general standard in the mobile world. There are several reasons to why your message was not received, some of which are that the person you sent your message to had turned off his phone for an extended period or you send it to the wrong mobile number etc.
